What You Need to Know:

Why has your PC suffered a decrease in performance?

No one goes to the store planning to buy the slowest computer on the block, which is probably why you're upset that your PC isn't working the way it's supposed to. What many consumers fail to realize is that there is a logical explanation for the frustration they are experiencing. Almost all system issues can be traced back to registry errors. Chances are, if you're running your PC on a Windows operating system, your computer has these errors.

What can RegistryClear do about it?

RegistryClear has an extensive database of known errors. It scans your registry and flags the problematic entries, using surgical precision to find the bad and leave the good in place. RegistryClear can then restore your PC to peak operating performance.

If your computer runs on a Windows OS, you have more than a 90% chance of having multiple registry errors. Those errors can cause serious problems with PC performance and can even result in fatal system crashes.

What is the Windows registry?

If your computer runs on Windows, it has what's called the Windows registry. This is essentially a library that stores the information about your computer's system settings and user preferences. It also manages the relationship between your PC, hardware, memory and the addressing that links them all. When there are changes made to your PC (such as the installation and un-installation of software) these changes affect the Windows registry, sometimes in negative ways. Over time, the errors begin to add up, and they eventually cause serious problems with the operation of your PC.

Can registry errors really hurt my PC?

Absolutely! In a worst-case scenario, registry errors can completely incapacitate your hard drive. And even minor errors can cause frustrating problems such as slower system start times and unexplained system freezing.

What caused the errors in my registry?

Every time you install or un-install a software application, changes are made to the Windows registry. When you download a program, delete a file, or perform other simple operations on your PC, the registry enters and removes values. Sometimes these values don't get removed correctly. Sometimes they get copied incorrectly. Sometimes they become corrupted or - if you install certain programs more than once - the values become duplicated. All of these can constitute small errors. Initially, these errors don't affect much, but after time, they become severe enough to cause serious problems with your PC.

Can I delete my registry?

The Windows registry provides the massive organizational system needed to run a PC. It tells programs when to run, when to stop, when to install and un-install. It tells software how to interact with hardware and how to display things so you can see and interact with them. Any PC that runs on Windows must to have a registry. There's no way to get around it.

What if I just ignore the errors?

Like most problems, ignoring registry issues doesn't make them go away; they only get worse. What may be inconvenient now will become a nightmare in the future. Your system crashes will become more frequent and more severe. Eventually, the errors can cause a fatal system error. It's much easier to simply address the registry errors as they occur.

Can I fix my registry myself?

Yes and no. Technically, you could. But fixing the registry requires the ability to tell which values are good and which are problematic. Altering the registry incorrectly can be devastating if you don't know what you're doing. Moreover, there could be hundreds of minor errors, and it could take days to go through and carefully mend every problem. Why waste hours doing what RegistryClear can do in minutes?
